Halperin’s thesis was entitled “Terrorist Recruitment: History of Madrassahs, the Internet and the University Dilemma.” While residing in London, England, Halperin volunteered at the Amnesty International Secretariat as part of the Global Donor Project, which included conducting research for new donor candidates.

Halperin holds a master's degree in international Relations from Middlesex University in London, England, and a bachelor's degree in international relations, concentration in conflict and peace studies, from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa.
