Chris Cotner
Principal Analyst, State and Local Industry Analysis

As an analyst, Chris Cotner is responsible for creating and maintaining content for the State and Local Opportunities team. Cotner conducts in-depth research and analysis of the technology market of state and local governments. In addition, Cotner provides support to the Sales and Member Services teams for Deltek member requests, product demonstrations, and training sessions.

Previously, Cotner held several positions for various state and local agencies where he provided direct clinical services to clients. Prior to his clinical work in human services, Chris served for more than 12 years in both administrative and faculty roles at several state universities where his duties included program development, program assessment, learning assessment, grant-based research, policy development, administrative systems automation, database creation and management, and teaching.

Cotner holds a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from James Madison University.
