Summary:	The Authority is seeking a GSA Scheduled contractor to purchase 475 Wireless Handheld Devices for the Police Department. The purpose of the acquisition is to provide the Police Department with handheld wireless devices for communication. With availability to distribute suspicious activity information in real-time, it is necessary for all MTPD sworn personnel to have a means to receive that information as quickly as possible. The wireless device will permit each member of the Department to have situational awareness and allow for greater possibility of interdiction. Suspicious activity reports with photos, and possibly video, will be able to be sent into the field, directly to Officers. Officers will also be able to send information back to Police Communications in real-time with images. The immediate means to feed information back and forth will increase MTPD’s ability to recognize patterns of activity.
