CONGRESSIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY FUNDING REQUESTS - A BILLION DOLLAR LIFELINE
For fiscal year 2011, state and local governments submitted approximately $1.29 billion in federal funding requests to assist in the development and implementation of Justice/Public Safety(JPS) projects. INPUT discusses the history of federal funding requests and how they may change in the future. This report provides a forecast for federal funding requests over the next five years as well as a discussion of how political party dictates funding requests.
