A recap of procurement activity in the SLED Health and Human Services market in May 2017.
Solicitation activity in the State, Local and Education (SLED) Health and Human Services (HHS) market remained strong in May 2017 with a 3.5% increase in solicitations over April 2017. Last month, HHS solicitation activity was notably high in California, New York, Texas and Virginia. Other states with high procurement activity included Florida, Colorado, and Washington.
The majority of solicitations released in May had a primary requirement of Health/Social Services, Professional Services or Medical and Scientific Equipment. The number of Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC); Information Technology (IT); and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) solicitations were also strong in May 2017 compared to recent months.
Notable Solicitation Releases
- The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) issued a request for proposals (RFP) to procure System Integration Services for Montana’s Program for Automating and Transforming Healthcare (MPATH). The Systems Integration Services module is part of the overall MPATH program to replace aging legacy components of the Montana Healthcare Programs enterprise. Other modules will include Provider Services, Data Analytics, Financial Support Services, Claims Processing, Care Management, Pharmacy Support Services and Customer Care Services. Proposals are due by July 19, 2017.
- The Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) released an RFP for a Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Enterprise Mobile Software Solution. Current in-house applications fall short of the Department’s vision of integrated and coordinated child welfare services. VDSS is committed to acquiring a system(s) that will meet the Administration of Children and Families (ACF) federally-prescribed CCWIS requirements, conform to the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Department’s enterprise architecture standards, and effectively align with the Virginia Local Government and State Child Welfare Program practice requirements. Proposals are due by June 20, 2017.
In order to meet the 2020 WIC EBT deadline imposed by the federal government, several states released solicitations for eWIC Quality Assurance contractors to assist in implementation of electronic benefit transfer (EBT) systems for their respective Women, Infants and Children (WIC) programs.
- The Illinois Department of Human Services issued an RFP for Quality Assurance Services for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC joint Management Information System (MIS) and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Implementation Project. Proposals are due on July 10, 2017.
- The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) released an RFP for a contractor to perform Quality Assurance Services during the evaluation, testing, pilot and implementation and closeout of EBT for the Missouri Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC. Proposals are due on August 16, 2017.
