A monthly recap of the SLED Justice and Public Safety, Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases.

The market for Justice and Public Safety, Transportation and Public Utilities (JPS/T/PU) has been performing consistently since the end of 2018. Transportation represented 62% of projects, a 6% increase from the end of 2018. Public Utilities represented 23% of projects, a decrease of 3% from the end of 2018. Justice and Public Safety represented 15% of projects, a decrease of 3% from the end of 2018. The JPS/T/PU sector continues to be promising with Transportation dominating the bids since the end of last year and continuing strongly through May 2019.

Architecture, Engineering and Construction projects accounted for 47% of solicitations, an increase of 8% since the end of 2018. Professional Services accounted for 8% of projects, a slight decrease of 3% from the end of 2018. While Information Technology represented 4% of bids staying consistent with the end of 2018. Architecture, Engineering and Construction has gained ground since the end of 2018.

Pennsylvania, California and Texas had the most bids for the month of May in the JPS/T/PU market, accounting for 27% of bids released. Delaware, Vermont and Washington DC saw the least amount of JPS/T/PU bids in May with less than 1%.

The JPS/T/PU market continues to be an area of consistency and stability for bids in 2019.

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The King County, Washington, Department of Executive Services issued a solicitation for a Jury Management System Replacement project. The County is seeking to acquire a product from a qualified and experienced vendor to implement a jury management system that will support the operational, reporting and customer service needs of Superior Court’s Jury Services. Proposals are due by June 6, 2019.
