The market in March 2020 for Justice and Public Safety, Transportation and Public Utilities (JPS/T/PU) has stayed relatively consistent in terms of distribution with an increase in overall bids. Transportation represented 68% of projects, a 4% increase from last month. Public Utilities represented 20% of projects. Justice and Public Safety represented 12% of projects.
Architecture, Engineering and Construction projects accounted for 49% of solicitations. Professional Services accounted for 7% of projects. While Information Technology represented 3% of bids released.
Pennsylvania, California and Texas had the most bids for the month in the JPS/T/PU market, accounting for 28% of bids released. Delaware, Vermont and Washington DC saw the least amount of JPS/T/PU bids with less than 1%.
There was a 6% increase in overall bids seen in March 2020 compared to bids released in February 2020. The JPS/T/PU market continues to be an area of consistency and stability for bids.
Notable Solicitation Releases
- The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) issued a solicitation for Maintenance Quality Assurance Field Assessment Services for NYSDOT. The primary goal of a maintenance quality assurance program is to improve quality and provide for the effective use of resources in an efficient manner. Proposals are due by May 5, 2020.
- The County of Orange, Sheriff-Coroner/Purchasing Services Bureau, issued a solicitation for a Inmate Communication Services. The County is seeking an experienced Offeror to provide, install and maintain various inmate communication solutions inclusive of an inmate and visitation telephone system (ITS), video visitation solution (VVS), correctional-grade tablets (Tablets) and payment kiosks. Proposals are due by May 28, 2020.
