Deltek Pulse: Transportation and Public Utilities Quarterly Bid Review, Q2 2021

A quarterly recap of SLED Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases.
The market in Q2 2021 (April-June 2021) for Transportation and Public Utilities (TPU) has stayed relatively consistent compared to Q1 2021 in terms of distribution in overall bids. There were a total of just over 38,000 bids released for TPU with Transportation representing 73% of projects and Public Utilities representing 27% of projects.
Architecture, Engineering and Construction projects accounted for 55% of solicitations. Professional Services accounted for 6% of projects. While Information Technology represented 3% of bids released.
Pennsylvania, California and Texas had the most bids for the month in the TPU market, accounting for 29% of bids released. Delaware, Vermont and Washington DC saw the least amount of TPU bids with 1%.
Bids showed a 10% increase for Q2 2021 compared to Q1 2021. While bid numbers in Q3 are not expected to reach pre-covid levels, the anticipation would be to see similar numbers to Q1 and/or Q2.

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) released a solicitation for a Wholesale Power and Transmission Billing System. The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is seeking to procure a market-based solution to replace our end-of-life billing system for Wholesale Energy and Transmission Services in the ERCOT market. Proposals are due July 30, 2021.
The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (METRA) released a solicitation for a Replacement of the Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD) and Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) System. MARTA is seeking Proposals from Firms to provide a comprehensive solution to replace the current CAD and AVL systems that currently exist in MARTA’s bus fleet. Proposals are due August 27, 2021.
