A quarterly recap of SLED Transportation and Public Utility solicitation releases.

The market in Q2 2022 saw a decrease of 8% in bids compared to Q1 2022. There was a total of just under 39,000 bids released for the Transportation and Public Utility industry. Transportation represents 72% of projects and Public Utilities represent 28% of projects.

Architecture, Engineering, and Construction projects accounted for 54% of solicitations, staying steady with Q1. Professional Services accounted for 7% of projects, an increase of 1% from Q1 2022. While Information Technology remained consistent, representing 3% of bids released.

Pennsylvania, California and Texas had the most bids for the month in the Transportation and Public Utilities (TPU) market, accounting for 29% of bids released. Delaware, New Hampshire and Washington DC saw the least amount of TPU bids with 1%.

Notable Solicitation Releases

The Illinois Department of Transportation released a solicitation for a Crash Information System Replacement (CIS). The CIS is the central system used by the Bureau of Data Collection and by Illinois law enforcement agencies to both enter data elements for each motor vehicle crash reported in a calendar year, used to locate the crashes on a map and produce detailed reports. Proposals are due July 15, 2022.

The Dallas, Texas International Airport Board released a solicitation for a Taxi Virtual Queue System, Automated Taxi Dispatch System, and a Ground Transportation Permitting System. The solution will result in an updated positive customer experience for the traveling public and airport employees. Proposals are due July 12, 2022.
