This data set details $537.5 billion in federal COVID-response aid allocated to states, localities, and transit systems.

Approximately, $810.9 billion in COVID-response aid has been made available.  This data set documents only those programs that allocated funds on a formula-basis (rather than via an application process).  Funding that was directed primarily to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has been excluded.  Funding to tribal and territorial entities is also excluded.

The data set includies all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the following governmental entity types:

  • 1,132 cities
  • 14 city-county consolidated governments
  • 566 counties
  • 144 multi-jurisdictional mass transit districts
  • 122 small/medium/large hub airports
