Analyst’s Take
While several projects were awarded, there was little to no movement regarding large projects in the pipeline, proving August to be a slow month. Traditionally, this is due to procurement officials on vacation during the end of summer. Agencies may also be at a standstill until grant funding comes through. Many grants are awarded around this time, so projects may pick up in the coming months.
As fall and winter approach, government agencies may use this off-season time to focus on planning and strategies for new projects. As a result, there may be an increase in solicitations released in the new year, which vendors should keep on their radar.
