Overview: Federal Government Shutdowns

The federal government finds itself in a familiar place - on the precipice of another shutdown. Despite a deal brokered by President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy as part of the debt ceiling negotiations, a FY 2024 appropriations lapse is on the horizon as the House and Senate remain misaligned on funding levels. This reality of doing business with the government requires contractors to be prepared and understand the mechanics of a shutdown.
