The federal government finds itself in a familiar place - on the precipice of another shutdown. The twist: a new administration and a new Congress positioning to influence both the scope and duration of funding for the remainder of FY 2025.

A proposed continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government until March 14, 2025 has been opposed by the House of Representatives, setting the stage for a government shutdown when the current CR expires at midnight on December 20, 2024.
