A Small Business Summit was held at Joint Base Andrews on June 13, 2019.  Margaret Santos, a contracting official from Air Force District of Washington, stated her office is looking for fast and agile ways to get the job done.  As a result, they will typically use the OASIS and NetCents 2 vehicles when seeking competition. But with the NetCents 2 Products vehicle expiring and the follow-on requirement, 2GIT, delayed because of protests, Ms. Santos was not sure, at this time, how that work would be procured in the future.

The contracting officials encouraged vendors to ensure their contact information was updated regularly on SAM.gov and on their commercial websites. That way the government can reach out to the vendor during the market research process.

In addition, a panel discussion took place which included as one of its topics for the government to provide a list of forecasted opportunities at future industry events.  It was noted to the panel that a list of upcoming opportunities would assist many small businesses with building pipelines, as well as allow open dialogue between industry, customers, and contracting officials.

A couple of the upcoming acquisitions out of the 11th Wing that Deltek is tracking include:

  • Simplified Acquisition of Base Engineering Requirements at JB Andrews (SABER) Opp ID: 163703
    • This requirement is currently in the market research phase.  Responses to the sources sought were collected in May 2019.
  • Publically Available Information (PAI) Opp ID: 179127
    • This requirement is currently in the market research phase.  Responses to the white papers were collected in May 2019
