CDC COVID-19 Supplemental Funding Provides $871 Million to States

HHS released the amount of CDC coronavirus preparedness and response supplemental funding each state has received as of April 6.

Following the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2020, signed into law on March 6, states, U.S. territories, and certain large cities have already received $871 million in funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This number represents funding that is complete or currently underway as of April 6, when the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the funding information. The funds are broken up between four CDC programs, with each state qualifying for different ones:

  • Public Health Crisis Cooperative Agreement (CoAg)
  • Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) Cooperative
  • Emerging Infections Program (EIP)
  • Tribal Awards
