Matthew Weigelt, a research analyst with Information Solutions, organizes and analyzes federal business opportunities, with a focus on the Army and the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Transportation. He conducts in-depth primary and secondary research, tracking progress of currently identified federal business opportunities and forecasting forthcoming federal contracts. He also provides customized research in response to GovWin IQ customer requests.
Before joining Deltek, Weigelt worked 14 years both as a freelance writer and journalist with FCW and Washington Technology magazines, writing about federal acquisition policy, leaders in the government contracting community, and market trends in the area of information technology. He has written articles for the Washington Post, and his work has been cited numerous times in congressional testimony. Prior to that, he worked on Capitol Hill for two years as a legislative correspondent for former U.S. Representative Mark Souder. He is a fellow at the Heritage Foundation.
Weigelt is also a published author, public speaker, young writers mentor, and a FAA-certified drone pilot.
