Sherry Calvendra, senior manager of the State, Local and Education (SLED) research team, brings more than 13 years of experience in government contracting. Throughout the course of her career, she has developed expertise in public sector purchasing and business development, as well as management and training. She currently manages the day-to-day operations of analyst teams in support of the SLED products for GovWin IQ. She is responsible for hiring, developing, and leading analysts to provide business intelligence content for technology product and services companies. She is also a certified new employee trainer, responsible for new hire onboarding.
Calvendra came to Deltek from its acquisition of INPUT, where she was a principal analyst conducting extensive research and providing expert commentary to industry executives on the health and human services vertical markets. She previously held several other positions at INPUT supporting state and federal government profiles and opportunity identification for health care, social services, justice and public safety, and general government markets. Calvendra gained experience in product development, content production, and building relationships with clients, government officials, and media.
Prior to INPUT, Calvendra worked as a financial settlement manager and analyst at ReturnBuy Inc. during the dot-com boom. She held various responsibilities with the online liquidator, including competitive analysis, distribution center production planning and reporting, and acting as a liaison to the account managers and operations teams.
