Blackboard announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services to offer new cloud based service for their popular Learning Management System.

Blackboard's Learning Management System (LMS), used by many school districts and universities, announced on Monday a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to transition the LMS services to the cloud. According to EdScoop, this announcement came as some universities were considering moving away from Blackboard as schools are looking for more flexibility in the LMS and for a cloud hosted solution.

This is a great example of how vendors should be adapting the way they do business to fit the changing needs of their customers. Blackboard saw the desire for a cloud hosted Learning Management System, and adapted their Learning Management System to fit what their customers wanted to see from the product.

According to Blackboard, the online learning programs will now be delivered within a more secure cloud environment. The Blackboard press release can be found here.
