A monthly recap of SLED JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases.

Within the Justice and Public Safety/Homeland Security (JPS/HS), Transportation and Public Utilities verticals, Transportation accounted for 58.6% of all solicitations released in August, down almost 4% from July, while Justice/Public Safety came in with 39.2% and Public Utilities made up the remaining 2.2% of all JPS/HS solicitations. These percentages show a small change in the distribution of solicitations released in August compared to July and June. The types of projects that were solicited in August for JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities remained close to July’s numbers, with Architecture, Engineering and Construction dropping from 31.7% to 29% for the month, Professional Services increasing slightly to 13% and Information technology moving up to 7%.

Notable Solicitation Releases:

  • The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation released a request for proposals (RFP) for a Global Positioning System and Electronic Monitoring Services project. The state has set a maximum budget of $87 million for the project that is looking to utilize the newest GPS technology. Proposals are due on September 21, 2017.
  • The Louisiana Office of the Governor, on behalf of the Louisiana Commission for Law Enforcement, has a requirement for a Crime Victims Case Management Tracking System. Major areas of focus for the project include improving accuracy through improved database and process management functions, system flexibility, and faster communications. Proposals are due on October 12, 2017.
  • The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued a solicitation for a Digitized Driver’s License system. The new issuance system will help bring Kentucky closer to being compliant with the Real ID Act. Proposals must be submitted by October 5, 2017.
