A monthly recap of SLED JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases.

The breakdown of all solicitations released in the Justice and Public Safety/Homeland Security (JPS/HS), Transportation and Public Utilities verticals during September remained similar to those from August. Transportation accounted for 55.7% of solicitations, down 2.9% from August. Justice and Public Safety came in with 37.2% of solicitations, down 2% from August, and Public Utilities increased in September to reach 7.1% of all solicitations, a 4.9% increase. These percentages show the continued expansion of the Public Utilities vertical and that Transportation and Justice and Public Safety continue to account for the majority of the JPS/HS Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases. The types of projects solicited in September remained similar to those in August, July and June. Architecture, Engineering and Construction accounted for 30.9%, a 0.8% drop from August, Professional Services were 12% of the projects solicited, down 1%, and Information Technology dropped 0.7% to come in at 6.3% of the projects solicited in September.                                                                                                   

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has a requirement for a Remote Energy Management Program (REM). The state has $3 million available for the project. The major focus for this project is whole-building level energy data analytics to support energy management. Proposals are due on October 30, 2017.
  • The Kansas Department of Administration, on behalf of the Kansas Department of Corrections, has released a request for proposals (RFP) for an Inmate Communication Services project. Inmate Communication Services including Inmate Telephone Services (ITS), Video Visitation Services (VVS), and Tablet Services are all incorporated into the solicitation. Proposals are due on December 8, 2017.
  • The Indiana Department of Administration, on behalf of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, issued a solicitation for Vehicle Valuation and VIN Validation Solutions. This is part of the larger Bureau of Motor Vehicles Modernization project. Indiana is seeking to acquire a more accurate system that can provide data in real-time to users. Proposals are due on November 9, 2017.
