A monthly recap of SLED JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities solicitation releases.

The Justice and Public Safety/Homeland Security (JPS/HS), Transportation and Public Utilities market shifted slightly in December, seeing a rise in Transportation projects and a decline in Public Utilities solicitations. Transportation accounted for 63% of the SLED JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities market segment, up 6% from November. Public Utilities declined 5% to come in at 16% of solicitations in December and JPS/HS remained steady at 21% of JPS/HS, Transportation and Public Utilities solicitations. The fluctuation in the market share of the Public Utilities vertical is to be expected and is likely to remain between 15-25% of the market, along with JPS/HS. The total number of solicitations released in December increased by 21% over November and over 26% more than were released in October. This growth is likely due to governments trying to get projects posted before the end of 2017.

December again saw a major shift in the types of projects that were solicited. Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) increased another 13% to account for 42% of solicitations in December. Information Technology (IT) and Professional Services (PS) both remained steady at 5% each for the types of solicitations released in December. For the end of 2017, AEC dominated the market as governments sought to fulfill any construction-related needs as winter sets in and 2018 begins.
