A monthly recap of the SLED Education solicitation releases.

The month of January saw a few significant changes within the Education vertical. This month had a large rise in solicitations released, increasing 200% compared to December 2017. This growth is largely due to the combination of Deltek and Onvia resources and will likely even out over the next few months. Also this month, the Higher Education vertical is producing 95% of bids, while the Primary/Secondary Education vertical is producing 5% of the bids.

Architecture, Engineering, and Construction was a primary requirement associated with 39% of solicitation releases, with Information Technology and Professional Services representing about the same proportion, at 11% and 12%, respectively. When looking at procurements by state, the highest number of solicitation releases for Education remained in Texas, New York, and California, and the fewest releases came from Vermont, Delaware, and North Dakota.

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The Massachusetts Executive Office of Education released a solicitation for the Massachusetts Adult Education Data System. This is mainly a student information system designed to measure and document learning gains on Educational Functioning Levels (EFL). Proposals are due on March 7, 2018.
  • The University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, on behalf of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, has a requirement for an Afterschool Programs Data System for 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC). The data system is intended to support afterschool sites throughout Wisconsin, provide associated technical support, and customizations to the system as necessary. Proposals are due on May 16, 2018.
