A recap of procurement activity in the SLED General Government Services market in May 2018.

The month of May saw an increase in the number of General Government Services solicitations over April, increasing by about 3%. The majority of the solicitations issued had a primary requirement of Professional Services, at about 71%, with the remaining 29% having a primary requirement of Information Technology. The Public Finance vertical saw the most solicitations, followed by Economic Development/Regulation, Natural Resources/Environment, and Community Development. The three States with the most procurement activity in May were California, Texas, and New York, while Delaware, Montana, and North Dakota had the least.

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) issued a request for proposals (RFP) for Data Center and Disaster Recovery Services. This project is intended to implement a backup data center and disaster recovery site in the event of loss of systems critical to normal business operations. Proposals are due June 15, 2018.
  • The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has posted an RFP for a Point of Sale Software, Hardware, and Implementation Solution (POS). ABC is seeking a new solution which will interface their existing proprietary inventory management system and a new sales audit system. The deadline for proposals is July 3, 2018.
  • The Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services has released an RFP for a Vermont Asset Management Information System Implementation (VAMIS). The desired solution would be used to support overall increases in internal accessibility to asset information. The deadline for proposals is July 20, 2018.
