A monthly recap of SLED Education solicitation releases.

The Education vertical experienced some fluctuations as we hit the midway point of 2018 in the month of June. There was a 23% decrease in solicitations released as compared to May, which was a first for the past few months. When looking at solicitations released by primary verticals, the Primary/Secondary vertical has maintained producing the most bids with 55% and Higher Education saw 45% which is the smallest gap these values have seen in all of 2018. The Higher Education vertical showed a substantial increase compared to May 2018 as it continues to grow this year.

In regards to changes within primary requirements and procurements by state; June saw almost identical numbers as compared to May. The values for primary requirements held similar this month with Architecture, Engineering, and Construction as the highest percentage of solicitation releases at 29%, Professional Services at 14%, and finally Information Technology at 11%. As for procurements by state, the highest number of solicitation releases for Education remained in New York, Texas, and California and lastly, the fewest releases also remained in Delaware, Vermont, and Montana.

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The North Dakota University System (NDUS) has a requirement for a Library Services Platform for Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN Academic Libraries). ODIN seeks a shared, standards-based Library Services Platform (LSP) that will meet the diverse needs of its member libraries and their patrons. Proposals are due July 20, 2018.
  • The State of Maine Department of Education released a solicitation for an Education Enterprise Data Solution. The Department seeks a vendor to act as a provider and integrator of applications, data and services, as well as an infrastructure hosting provider. Proposals are due August 15, 2018.
  • The Colorado Department of Higher Education issued a solicitation for a Multi-Agency Education, Training and Career Planning Platform. The state is seeking a platform with full implementation in the career, education, training and job preparation areas, along with providing simplified access to resources and assistance available to stakeholders statewide. An Intent to submit is due by July 20 and proposals are due August 24, 2018.
