A monthly recap of the SLED Education solicitation releases.

The Education vertical showed a huge increase in total solicitation releases for the month of October 2018. October boasted a 50% increase in the number of solicitations issued as compared to September. As for the two verticals, the Primary/Secondary Education vertical saw 64% of bids where the Higher Education vertical accounted for 36% which bridged the gap between the two significantly as compared to previous months.

When looking at the primary requirements of bids and procurements by state, October continued similar trends when compared to September. The values for primary requirements for the month of October are Architecture, Engineering, and Construction as the highest percentage of solicitation releases at 32%, Professional Services at 15%, and finally Information Technology at 11%. Other than a slight decrease to Professional Services, these percentages remained very similar to September’s numbers.

The data for procurements by state had the highest number of solicitation releases for Education coming from Texas, New York, and Michigan. October was the first month where Michigan made it to the top 3 highest states as well as the first month with California slipping out of the top 3 in total solicitation releases. Finally, the fewest releases came from Vermont, Delaware, Idaho, Washington, DC and North Dakota.

Notable Solicitation Releases

The Education vertical saw a few notable solicitations released this month:

  • The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) has a requirement for an Online Student Enrollment for Continuing Education Solution. SBCTC, on behalf of the Washington State Community and Technical Colleges, is seeking to purchase an Online student enrollment system for continuing education. Proposals are due November 29, 2018.
  • The Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR), on behalf of the University of Arizona The Department issued a solicitation for a Learning Management System (LMS). The ABOR seeks a vendor to furnish the University with a learning management system (LMS) to support the organization’s administration, documentation, and delivery of professional development and training programs. Proposals are due November 28, 2018.
