A recap of procurement activity in the SLED General Government Services market in August 2019.

The month of August saw a decrease in the number of General Government Services solicitations from July, dropping by about 1%. The majority of the solicitations issued had a primary requirement of Professional Services, at about 71%, with the remaining 29% having a primary requirement of Information Technology. The Public Finance vertical saw the most solicitations, followed by Economic Development/Regulation, Community Development, and Natural Resources/Environment. The three States with the most procurement activity in August were California, Texas, and Florida, while Delaware, Nebraska, and Vermont had the least.

Notable Solicitation Releases

  • The Alaska Department of Administration (DOA) released a request for proposals (RFP) for an Integrated Pension and Health Benefits Solution. The current legacy systems are creating challenges of multiple platforms for hardware and software, inconsistent backup and disaster recovery solutions, lack of automated integration across business applications, and more. Proposals are due September 25, 2019.
  • The Mississippi Department of Administration and Finance (DFA) has issued an RFP for an Electronic Payment and Invoicing Solution. The awarded vendor will be responsible for delivering, implementing, and providing on-going support for the electronic payment and invoicing solution used by vendors paid through MAGIC, the Mississippi Accountability System for Government Information and Collaboration (MAGIC) system.The deadline for proposals is September 27, 2019.
  • The Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of Maine Revenue Services (MRS), has a requirement for Tax System Modernization. MRS is seeking to replace its array of legacy systems with a modern, integrated COTS solution that supports all taxes the agency administers. Responses are due by October 1, 2019.
