A monthly recap of the SLED Justice and Public Safety solicitation releases

In March, the Justice and Public Safety (JPS) market saw a large increase in the number of bids released. There were 27 percent more bids released in March than in February, a sign of continuing growth following the COVID-19 pandemic slowdown. There were a total of 1,132 bids released during the month of March.

Of the bids released, bids with Architecture, Engineering and Construction as the primary requirement had the highest percentage of bids, at 44 percent. Nearly 40 percent of bids had a primary requirement of Professional Services, while bids with a primary requirement of Information Technology made up about 17 percent of the bids released.

California, Texas and Florida had the highest number of JPS bids in March, accounting for nearly a quarter of all bids released. Wyoming and Idaho released the fewest number of bids, while Nevada, North Dakota, West Virginia and Vermont all tied for the third fewest bids released. Together, all six states accounted for just 2 percent of the total bids released in March.

Notable Solicitation Releases

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) released a solicitation for Computerized Examinations Cadets and Liquor Enforcement Officer (LEO). PSP is seeking to procure a contract to administer a secure web-based examination to applicants seeking employment as a State Police Cadet or Liquor Enforcement Officer Trainee. Proposals are due April 9, 2021.

The Tennessee Department of Military released a solicitation for Armed Security Guard Services. The Department of Military is seeking a contractor who can provide armed security guard services and vehicles at several locations throughout Tennessee. Proposals are due on April 16, 2021.
